Federica Zanello, soprano

Born in Sarzana (La Spezia), the soprano Federica Zanello took her diploma
in operatic singing at the Parma Conservatory and graduated in the faculty of
Musicology in the same town. In 2008 she achieved her diploma in the two-year
operatic singing course with top marks at the Modena Conservatory, under the
guidance of the soprano Mirella Freni. She has also attended master-classes
help by Michele Pertusi, Alain Billard, Mariella Devia and Luciana Serra.
The roles in which she has appeared include Gilda in Rigoletto, Despina in
Così fan tutte, Adina e Giannetta in Elisir d’Amore, Serpina in La Serva Padrona,
Violetta in La Traviata, Liù in Turandot, Giulietta in I Capuleti e Montecchi,
Norina in Don Pasquale, Marina in I Quattro Rusteghi, Camilla in the opera
of the same name by Ferdinando Paer and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
She has sung with the Toscanini orchestra conducted by Ennio Morricone.
She has made recordings for Bongiovanni ( a CD of Paisiello’s Sacred Music),
Tawa International ( a CD of opera arias), Tactus ( “ La Serva Padrona” by
Pergolesi, and a CD of opera arias “ Le Donne nell’Opera taliana”)and in 2011
“Ponchielli Chamber songs” by Dinamic.
In June 2009 she was awarded the As.Li.Co. prize by the vice president
Giovanna Lomazzi at the Capri Opera Festival. She gives opera recitals at opera
houses and at the leading Italian Opera Circles, and abroad in Switzerland and
Japan. She collaborates in trios with the instrumental ensemble “ La Variazione”
and “ Le Pleiadi”. Since 2008 she has given master-classes in singing in Tokyo
and Osaka. She contributes to the Cremona weekly “ La Vita Cattolica” as music
critic. She is Artistic Consultant for the Teatro Filodrammatici in Cremona.
In June 2011 she sing Ponchielli’s arias for the important Italian Radio: Radio 3.
She is Vice president in Association “Centro Studi A.Ponchielli”. This association
born in 2011 in Cremona ( Italy).
Actually she teaches classic singing at the "Claudio Monteverdi" music institute of Cremona.
